How to Get Your Baby Used to Tummy Time?

Tummy time play is extremely important for baby's development, babies now sleep on their backs. So they need to spend some time during the day on their tummies.

This helps with their physical development, it strengthens their arms, their shoulders, their neck and also later on it helps them with sitting and with crawling. So it's really good for them to spend some time everyday from when they are very young on their tummy.

Place your baby on his/her tummy to play, you can provide from interesting toys to put out in front of your baby. Also you may need to position your baby's hands and arms so they are very comfortable, babies love to look at bright, small, colourful toys. As your baby gets older he may like to look at a baby mirror, or toys that make a noise.

Don't worry if your baby is not too keen at first. It might be a good idea to get down to your babies level so you can also reposition their arms again. And also put some toys very close to where your baby is, to distract them.

As your baby gets older you can extend the time they play on their tummy. Notice that your baby is going to be getting much stronger, also he/she is less likely to make any fuss and will start to really enjoy tummy time.
