Woman Successfully Gives Birth Using a Frozen Ovary

Moaza Al Matrooshi is a pioneer. The birth of her son restores the change of motherhood for thousands. When Moaza was nine years old she had to have chemotherapy. It damages the ovaries, so doctors removed one of them. It was frozen at the University of Leeds, which is at the forefront of the science.

Last year, surgeons in Denmark transplanted slivers of it back into her body. No-one knew if tissue from a child would work again in an adult body. Moaza has become the first woman in the world to have a baby using an ovary frozen before puberty.
