This 50+ min full body Yin Yoga practice for pregnancy focuses on helping you connect deeply to your body and your baby during your entire pregnancy as your body rapidly changes, grows, and your baby develops. A lovely practice to support you during your pregnancy!
Perfect for all levels and throughout all three trimesters - we use props (you can choose to use them or not depending on your needs and comfort) - helping you fully stretch, release tension, soften, and prepare for each stage of pregnancy (and postnatal).
There are many who consider yin during pregnancy controversial but as long as you listen to your body, use props, shorten your hold times, and avoid pushing your body to new depths - it is a wonderful practice to help connect to yourself, the changes happening, and your baby (you can even practice this postnatal WITH your baby).
In Yin Yoga we hold poses passively without muscle engagement to mobilize and strengthen the connective tissue, joints, ligaments and bones. We hold these poses for 1-8 minutes and while this can be challenging at times, try to settle in, breath and commit to the stillness. Always connect with your body and breath and come into the pose slowly, to approximately 2/3 of your maximum depth, being mindfully aware of all the sensations.
