Health and Nutritional Advantages of Breastfeeding for Babies

There are many, many health and nutritional benefits for the baby. Most women these days decide to breastfeed because of this. There's so much more research out now showing us why breastfeeding is so important for babies. The incidence of colds and viruses are lessened, in addition to allergies and the severity of allergies being greatly reduced.

It also protects against sudden infant death syndrome. Many childhood cancers, leukemia. It helps the baby's brain to grow and develop. They have found that there are less learning and behavioral difficulties in breastfed babies. You will never find a constipated breastfed baby. Babies that are breastfed also have less diarrhea because the breast milk is so digestible.

On top of everything else, babies love the taste. Whatever you're eating, they're tasting. When it comes time for them six months later to start solids, they've tasted a lot of your food already. They really become very good eaters.

They're also leaner per height in the long run. You might have very chubby breastfed babies with a million rolls, which we love to see. Those are the babies that as they get older end up becoming much leaner per height.

You'll also find in a breastfed baby that there's less diaper rash and other skin problems. Research has also shown that there is a reduced incidence of juvenile onset diabetes in breastfed babies. A great benefit there too.
