Prenatal Pilates: Kneeling Side Stretch

Increases the flexibility of the intercostal muscles/the muscles between the ribcage. This helps to increase lung expansion. Strengthen the upper body and core. Cultivates a sense of inner power, breath and vitality. Opens the lungs. Alleviates fatigue and lower back pain. Improves balance, coordination and focus.
 
• Come on to your hands and knees.
• Extending right leg.
• Slowly bending your back as you go up.
• Straighten both arms.
• As you stretch to the right.
• Right arm on leg, left arm above head.
• Extending right leg.
• Open your arms, deep breaths.
• Bring body forward and repeat.
• Feel the side stretch.
• Come on back to your hands and knees.
