Preparing for Cesarean Birth

A Cesarean Section is a surgical procedure to deliver a baby in which an incision is made through the abdomen into the uterus and the baby is lifted out. If you have a scheduled Cesarean Section delivery, here's some information you'll need to know before, during and after the surgery.

Though hospital procedures may vary, there are general steps that most will follow when it comes to preoperative procedures. Before your operation day, you’ll probably have lab work, including blood and urine tests, to check for diabetes and other medical issues.
