Babies sometimes come exactly when and how they want to come. A woman was planning a waterbirth at the birth center she worked at...but her sweet baby decided to come fast and furious while she was laboring at home.
They drove into the birth center to deliver the placenta, which came out only a few minutes after arrival. Along with shock, there was a lot of laughter. Our pregnancies and births can teach us so much about letting go.
Births that occur outside of a hospital, birth centre or planned homebirth with an attending midwife are rare, but they do happen. These births are known as "born before arrival", or BBA.
