Being a new mom can throw everything out of whack. From your body to your sleep schedule, and yes, your sex life too. But we've got a few tips to help you get your sex drive back after baby.
Give yourself four to six weeks to recover. Between the hormone shifts and any lacerations or incisions you may have, you really need to give yourself time for your vaginal area to heal. Otherwise, sex could be painful for you.
Next, take some time to remember what it feels like to be a woman outside of mommy mode. Try a date night where you step outside the caretaking responsibilities, and you get to focus just on your partner and yourself. On that same note, find ways to connect with your partner again.
Massage is wonderful and relaxing. And if you choose to do a foot massage, there are pressure points down by the heel that actually will help with sexual arousal in the genital area for women. And remember that this stage is temporary.
Obviously everything's thrown off kilter, but once you get your routine back. You'll figure out how to carve out pockets of time so that you could really give yourself that self care that you need.
