Losing Weight After Childbirth

Well, the best way to lose weight after childbirth, if a mother can, is to nurse her baby because nursing requires an extra 500 calories a day. Nursing also helps the uterus to shrink back down to its normal size. So, if a mom nurses and then, eats healthy, does not increase her calories too much, it is a very efficient way to lose weight. For the mom that cannot nurse, her calories are not going to be higher but, my first tip is put that baby in a stroller and every day, go for an hour walk with that baby in the stroller. You will get some exercise.

The advantage of having a baby is, during pregnancy, your metabolic rate was higher so, take advantage of that and keep exercising and keep that metabolism higher. And then, just eat healthy. Do things like, you know eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Eat lean proteins. Eat grains but eat whole grains and watch the portion sizes. So, if a pregnant mom, whose had the baby, wants to lose that weight, first of all, nurse. Second, remember. Put that baby in a stroller and get lots of exercise.

Now classes for moms in strollers, where even in the wintertime when it is not sunny out, you can get together in a gym and do boot-camp with your baby right there in the stroller. There is now yoga classes that you can take your baby and do yoga around your baby. But combine exercise so you keep your metabolism high, and then eat a healthy balanced diet. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Lots of whole grains and lean protein.
