What You Need to Know About Sleep Safety for Newborn and Mom?

Infant sleep in the first few years of life is important for both baby and for the parents which is why when it comes to sleep safety must come first. It is important that room sharing not bed sharing takes place for the first six months.

This means placing the crib or bassinet next to the parents bed. The bed should have a firm mattress with fitted sheets only and nothing else in the crib such as extra blankets or toys to prevent suffocation. And baby should be placed on their back for sleep as recommended by the public health agency of Canada.
